What I provide
You are going to get family-friendly, plant-based diet recipes. I’m also working on super easy meal plans to get you through the week. On the weekend I like to make more adventurous plant-based meals, such as Spinach and Cashew-Ricotta Stuffed Shells, you’ll get those too.
My plant-based diet story
I started eating a plant-based diet at the end of 2015 while I was pregnant with my third son (I’m a mom of 3 boys!). We tried a lot of delicious vegan recipes to get used to eating new-to-us vegetables and grains. I also had to figure out how to construct a meal without meat as the focus.
Eventually, I realized to achieve the full benefits, we also needed to reduce our oil intake. My family now eats a whole-food, plant-based diet 90% of the time. To be clear, let’s go over the definition of a whole-food, plant-based diet from Forks Over Knives:
A whole-food, plant-based diet is centered on whole, unrefined, or minimally refined plants. It’s a diet based on fruits, vegetables, tubers, whole grains, and legumes; and it excludes or minimizes meat (including chicken and fish), dairy products, and eggs, as well as highly refined foods like bleached flour, refined sugar, and oil.
I feel amazing when I eat a mostly plant-based diet. My energy levels are through the roof and my mind is clear and focused. I eat a whole-food, plant-based diet 90% of the time, but I only share 100% plant based recipes with minimal to no oil.
How PlantBasedAdventure.com got started
As a MilSpouse I move frequently. My sister road-tripped with me a few years ago during one of my moves and during the road-trip we decided to start a blog together. We started DebbiesDaughters.com as a place to collaborate on recipes, crafts, and beauty tips.
Three things happened after we launched. First, the recipe section took over the site. Second, I got pregnant with my third son. Third, I started my plant-based lifestyle. It got to the point where I felt my readers would benefit from a dedicated website. Welcome to Plant-Based Adventure!
